The Nostalgia!

Let me tell you about this one time during our science class. We were doing the DNA experiment, and I could see the excitement and curiosity on the kids' faces as we mashed up strawberries and bananas to extract DNA. It was messy, hilarious, and absolutely educational. Seeing them understand the concept of DNA and how it's the blueprint of life was incredibly rewarding. I felt like a real-life science magician, making learning fun and engaging.

And speaking of fun, the cultural exchange here is mind-blowing. I've learned so much about Indian customs, traditions, and even picked up a few dance moves from the local kids. They taught me a traditional dance during one of our breaks, and let's just say, my dancing skills need some serious improvement! But hey, it's all about having fun and embracing each other's cultures, right?

Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my goodness, the food here is out of this world! From spicy curries to crispy dosas and aromatic biryanis, every meal is a burst of flavors. I've become a big fan of chai tea, which we have with our hosts every evening as we chat about our day. The hospitality here is incredible; they treat us like family, and I've never felt more welcomed anywhere else.

As the days go by, I'm starting to feel more at home in Manjakkudi. The initial culture shock has faded, and now I'm fully immersed in the rhythm of life here. Whether it's helping out in the school, exploring the village, or simply enjoying the starlit nights, every moment feels like a new chapter in my adventure book.

While stargazing, I don’t know why, but the sound of my mom yelling at me and asking me to go back to my room kept haunting me. And, for a matter of fact, I know it's not just a reflex memory; she must be using some atomic electromagnetic device to track me and then teleporting her voice into the environment. I know this doesn't make any sense, but I think I was missing Mom and Dad.

It's only been a few days here, but it feels like months. The time difference between India and the US makes it difficult to catch up, as our schedules are pretty jam-packed. I know she must be reading these blogs, so yeah, let's make it a permanent note, Maa, that I miss you. Here, it's official now. Don’t keep asking me on the phone if I am missing you or not, because, on the phone, I don’t know why, but it's awkward

I miss them dearly, and sometimes, when I'm lying under the stars, I imagine them looking up at the same sky thousands of miles away. It's a comforting thought that no matter where we are in the world, we're under the same sky, connected by love and memories.

Stay tuned for more adventures, more discoveries, and more heartfelt moments from across the globe. This is Sanjay signing off for now, sending love and hugs from India!
