Civil Air Patrol Programme - My First Day

Hey there! Today was my first ever day at the Civil Air Patrol, and oh boy, was it awesome! We got a grand tour around the place, and they have real planes just sitting there! It's like they’re waiting for us to fly them (but of course, we've got to learn a lot before that happens).

Our instructor, Mr. Bainbridge, is super cool. He taught us about airplane parts, which sounds a bit boring, but it wasn’t! He used these models that we could touch and move around. There were so many names to remember, but Mr. Bainbridge helped us whenever we got stuck.

And guess what? I made a new friend! His name’s Ryan Kollar. He knows a ton about planes and even has model airplanes at home. We teamed up for this quiz about what we learned today, and we totally aced it. I think we’re gonna be great buddies.

After CAP, it was straight to soccer practice. We’re gearing up for a game next week, and I'm trying to get better at being a forward. I scored today during practice! It felt as great as learning about planes.

I’m super pumped to go back to CAP and see what else we get to learn. Maybe soon, I'll tell you all about flying one of those planes! Oh, and don’t forget to wish me luck for my swim meet next week – I think I’m gonna need it!
